What happens if my 90-day reporting in Thailand is 7 days late?

So I went to Koh Samui to get my yearly extension of stay. Had all forms nicely prepared and printed out.

The girl at the counter was very helpful, took what she needed, returned two of the forms and ask me to fill them out again but by hand.

She then signed every paper and copied her ID on the back, checked my passport again and told me, "53 days, you too early, come back on the 12 of March". Now I only just realised, my 90 days reporting is due on the 5th of March.

So my question, what happen if my 90 days reporting is 7 days late?

Better to make 2 trips to Samui?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about the timing of their 90-day reporting in Thailand, as they realized their reporting is due on March 5th, while they have been advised to return for an extension application on March 12th. Another commenter clarifies that 90-day reporting can be done from 15 days before to 7 days after the due date without incurring a fine. The user seeks advice on whether it would be better to make two trips or if being late would have consequences.

well, I guess you'll find out if it's gonna fly or not on the 12th of March when you show up to apply for your extension.

I can't see this thread going anyway but sideways if I leave it open tonight :O So I'd say we're done for now.

Post back when you go get the extension on the 12th of march and let us know if it flew thru or not.

Good Luck

you can do 90 day reporting from 15 days BEFORE down until 7 days AFTER your actual due date without getting a fine.

Usually you can apply for an extension of stay when you have 45 days or LESS left on your current stamp (some offices are 30 days or less) so you were way early. :/

Just one thing. Is the money in a fixed account that can be withdrawn immediately with only loss of interest? It cannot be in an account which is tied up for a period of time and you cannot immediately withdraw the funds

just curious what are you using to meet the proof of financials? Are you using 800K baht in a thai bank or proof of 65K baht a month income
Ron *******
I will have 1000 baht on it that when the papers formally go in, they will reject it and send him to Chonburi

she also didn't let you apply either so you have no idea IF your paperwork will or won't fly

Joe Joe Ling This is how it is done. He couldn't possibly of done your extension in Chonburi without registering you at an address there for 90 day and TM30 reporting.

That is why he is telling you, you would need to do your renewal there. They don't tell you that if you want to do it yourself, you need to do a formal address change.

Without doing this, you cannot simply go and do a renewal where you are living.

and how do you get your 90 day report receipts?

@Joe **********
, did you file a change of address once you got the extension from the agent in chonburi to show that you really ARE where you are?

So you mean you have NEVER done a single 90 day report at the immigration office in your area that you use for your yearly extension AND you have NO idea what address the agent is using for you to do 90 day reports in Chonburi for you :/
Ron *******
That was what I was going too ask, is Joe doing 90 day reports or is the agent in Chonburi doing them?
Tod *********
@J**
, if you have been doing 90 day reports with your current address at your immigration office you are in their system and can use them for the new extension when you apply.

because you used an agent. Most agents all over the country use Chonburi to do your extension in conjunction with a fake address.
