As far as understand, you can buy a return ticket for your intended return. If any body ask, you tell them that you will be extending at an immigration office.

There has been NO official or news reports anywhere in the last 30 days on changing the 60 days visa exemption.

Absolutely every foreigner that enters Thailand has to do the TDAC every single time they enter or re enter.

Even if you leave for a couple of hours for a meeting outside of Thailand, you have to do it again.

Your passport is scanned when you exit the country and that is important to them, that you arrived and have left the country.

Steven Turner Thailand's tourism has slowed down dramatically so I suspect they will delay any movement on the 60 day stay.

If they do change it closer to your departure, then do as has been suggested. Get a visa before you leave.

If you don't, then just go to an immigration office in Thailand and apply for your 30 day extension.
