Yup. As a senior software architect of many years I can only agree that the problem almost always sits in front of the display. 🤣

Yes. Go through check before midnight. Easy

I would put and leave the 800k forever in the bank and live from income. It’s way easier.

On first try I left out a month and transferred double another month. Lost the extension!

And working is ok. Nobody asked me. I worked remotely on/off for years. Only 50+ is relevant.

I always do the extension in the last days. 2-3 days before the end is enough time to get all paperwork done. But lookout for Thai holidays - I have added the Thai holidays calendar to the calendar app for that. (Important notice: if a Thai holiday falls onto a weekend, the next workday is holiday!)

I do it 2-3 days before the end (for 11 years now).

Get a Thai statement and you see if it’s ok.

Sending from Wise to my kasikorn account explicitly shows “foreign” but only in Thai, not in English version.

Yes. You need to do the extension of stay within the duration of your visa.

So you will need to get a new visa for the second time and extend it from there.

I did that too because I messed up the 65k monthly income the first time ;)

(I can’t recommend this alternative to the 800k. I switched after 2 years)

I have asked my immigration over 10 years ago and they said I don’t need to (maybe because I’m married to Thai?).

Give it a try.

Everybody can do if they meet the requirements.

Get the nonO visa online.

Enter the country.

Immediately open bank account and send 800k from abroad.

After 80 days Goto immigration and ask what exactly they want to see. (Bank statement and certificate, a passport foto, book bank with a transaction of the same day, ID of Thai wife, your passport,…).

Get those things and return with 1900 baht.

If you plan to exit more than 3 times per year, get a multi reentry permit.

Why do you pay that much?

I just did my EOS yesterday as I’ve been doing it for over 10 years now. Costs 1900 baht and 5-20 minutes waiting (and time doesn’t count anyway for a retiree ;) )
