Banks in south east Asia require you to present yourself in person.

A rule of thumb is to never keep any significant funds in there if you do not have a long term residency or a private banking client where you're considered a higher value customer and they assign you a dedicated account manager.

Or keep it in a country where you have citizenship.

If neither of the above options work for you, maybe self custody some crypto instead
