I was told by the Thai General Consulate in New York that if you are approved and don't use it in a 3 month period that it cancels itself out.. But like others have mentioned it could vary from place to place.. I would check with the place where I applied for the DTV and hear what they have to say..
Anonymous participant 318, thank you so much! Yes, I will be insured quite quickly after my arrival as my son will be arriving first and has already been looking at plans for himself, me, and my granddaughter.. He used to have health insurance when he was a student at Mahidol, and is quite good with lining things up.. I just wasn't sure if that could be something the DTV visa process may ask for by way of additional documents..ππΌπ
, by land- like by bus or van from Vientiane to Nong Khai border crossing.. That sounds like a good plan.. Thank you so much, Tod! And I suppose I can call in on different schools in CM to possibly apply for an Education visa for my next visit a few months later.. No?
I don't see a route for me for long term staying/living now, unfortunately..
I could however study languages for a few years, then hop to Laos next time after that amount of time then Vietnam perhaps.. One can never see that far ahead really.. I'm an english teacher so I know i can pick up work along the way and teach online..
By the time I'm finished with all that I could head back to South America.. Retirement visa for Peru is much easier and lower financial requirements.. Ugh..
I'm exhausted... And truly crestfallen about the retirement requirements.. :(
But I'll work with the plans I got.. I'll create something good with what I've got to work with.. :)
, I'm actually looking for a recommendation for affordable health insurance.. I thought maybe a local Thai health insurance, but other's gave me two different international health insurance companies.. Do you have a recommendation possibly for insurance?
