the only foreign license accepted in Thailand is an international license obtained in your home country. valid to drive in Thailand for 3 months per visit - otherwise a Thai license.

I will get the non o visa in my home country - go to Thailand and get permission to stay for 1 year then renew that permission after 1 year etc etc

I don't remember where I saw this but I saw it on different web sites - good to know it is not an requirement - and was just told in this group that I could get insurance for public hospitals much cheaper than the prices I have seen
