My English teaching coworker cannot even use the past tense of 'have' correctly in a simple conversation. You just need to speak some kindergarten words and a short song or two.
Do you have a bachelors degree? If you do and you get a TEFL certificate you can teach English. You will probably only be able to teach up to 2nd grade because they usually reserve the native speakers for the older kids, but it's still something
Wait, how many land versus air entries do you get in 1 year? I'm going to embassy in Laos to get my non b visa, but in case anything goes wrong, I want to make sure I'll get back in? I've already entered twice by air this year 😪. It's so confusing
I would do something like this too. Maybe Cambodia where it is cheap to stay in an Airbnb and sleep and see a doctor again if needed. Spicy soup also helps. Long flights can be daunting if you don't feel 100%.
But maybe check out the up and coming digital nomad visa. Your answer might lie there. Or ED visa and then switch to digital nomad with tutoring English online once you get established.
You don't need a TEFL certificate to teach English in Thailand. You need a 4 year Bachelors degree. It is part of the visa requirements. They don't care about TEFL so much, or you can just do a one month TEFL to give you an upper edge with employers
