Hi guys

I really need your guide and advice.

I love thailand and missing much. I will relocate to thailand forever, but I haven't been there more 10 years ago.

i have been in germany for around 8 years as refugee, and I couldn't get a german passport, and I can't live at iran. Life is hard here ,I want to move back to thailand, and if it's possible to stay for a long time and get thailand nationality .

What is your idea to guide and what possibilities I have .please guide me like study or visa work

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user expresses a desire to relocate to Thailand after living in Germany for several years as a refugee, but is unsure about the visa options available for long-term residency or potential citizenship since they have not held a passport from Germany or Iran. The comments provide various opinions and advice regarding the challenges of obtaining Thai citizenship, suggesting that while long-term residency is possible through employment or education, acquiring citizenship is unlikely without significant qualifications or connections in Thailand.

I miss Thailand too..Can't you get regugee/humanitarian type visa for Australia? as they take in A LOT of Iranians! Under this way. That's all i meet, Persians🤣🤌

not easy, people’s application pending from 2 years

Have you considered trying to come to the USA? The asylum process is very open now and no need to go to Mexico you can go via Canada many ports of entry. The USA has an app now that will help you apply. Once you are in USA, there is a large Iranian expat community in L.A. with resources to help you get into school or get a job. Hope you and your family remain safe.

Do you have a bachelors degree? If you do and you get a TEFL certificate you can teach English. You will probably only be able to teach up to 2nd grade because they usually reserve the native speakers for the older kids, but it's still something

I'm confused first you say you are a refugee in Germany. Then in a later comment you say you are in Iran. If there is a Thai Embassy in Iran you need to go to their website and see what visa you qualify for.

no mate , you are taking people & countries as fools!!! I have to ask , as your story is falling apart ,now you say you've been back to Iran , why were you a refugee in the first place ??? It doesn't make sense at all !! Why not do yourself a favor & go back to Iran instead of trying the sympathy vote & your obvious bs !!!! it is a typical attitude of those who look for the foothold in another country as a refugee ( in this instance an Economic Opportunist ) as their Refugee status is questionable at best.

Looking at the persons profile, I see a number of red flags 🚩 as to the REAL reason they retreated from their birth country ( lifestyle choices )

Do you think it's possible that he wants to live his very own natural life, lifestyle , same as anyone else on this planet. It doesn't sound like he wants anyone else's money, just a chance to be able to work hard for his own, and to love the people he loves, without a government and culture that might torture and kill him for being his natural self. you read like an easy touch, if he TRULY had Political Asylum or recognised abuse at the hands of the Iranian government, his Refugee status would have been recognised by UNHCR’s representative body in Germany which is (BAMF) so after 8 years the OP returned to Iran… there in lies the TRUTH of his body of claims.

You should do more research and sit down and take notes when someone with more knowledge of the process and machinations of those trying to manufacture and manipulate the system to their benefit are at play.

To be honest, I don’t mean to be rude, but if you haven’t been successful in Germany after 8 years, it’s unlikely that you’ll find success in Thailand. If you had something substantial to offer, you’d be inquiring about business or investment visa options.

I know many people who work here in good jobs with proper work authorization. Most of them come from countries with strong backgrounds and are usually on temporary non-immigrant visas at best. They aren’t likely going to get residence or citizenship anytime soon, nor are they desperate to.

I think Thailand is a good choice if you already have a job, like a digital nomad, a remote worker, or you are retired... You do geomaxing and come to Thailand because cost of life is lower, the sun etc.

For coming here searching for job and live here as an adult, I don't think this is a good idea...people in your situation usually go in rich and more developed countries where there is more chance to build a good life, welfare, good public healthcare, good justice system, education etc. and you can build a family.

Countries like Germany, North Europe, UK, USA, Australia, Canada...I don't think Thailand is a good choice for you, for many reasons...

You won't be able to become a Thai citizen. Resident, maybe.

You can get long term resident visas. You need to be over 50, have a job there, have a Thai child, or married to a Thai, to start a long-term visa process going.

Usually they don't give nationality, regardless of how long you stay.

You can get employment and stay on an employment visa, which is renewable annually, as long as you stay employed.

You can also get a student visa by learning a language or Muay Thai. I hear you don't even have to learn anything, just pay the school and they'll give documents to make that visa.

If you have a passport you could explore several options: education visa, DTV, business visa, non-o (if at least 50 years of age). All will require money. Even more expensive options are Elite visa and LTR.

Von ******

going to be hard to leave Germany if he is a refugee and has no passport from Germany and if he can’t live in Iran it is safe to say he no longer has a current Iranian passport… so there is NO 60 day visa on arrival in Thailand situation applying here.
Henrik *****
Didn’t say anything about which kind of visa that should be applied for.

May have a German Alien passport, since stayed for many years in Germany, which can be used for applying for visa in Germany, but have to leave longer time to process than with a “ normal” passport.

“Applicants who are originally nationals of countries with additional requirements and currently holding Xcountry Alien’s Passport and Xcountry travel documents need to submit the visa application at least four-six weeks in advance as well. Holders of Xcountry travel documents and Xcountry alien passports must apply for a visa regardless of how many days the applicant will stay in the Kingdom.

Please select 'Travel Document/Refugee/Stateless' Do NOT select 'Ordinary Passport'

Remarks: when applying for a visa please select 'Travel Document for Refugee and stateless person' NOT 'Ordinary passport'”

I don't have a german passport and i went back iran again ,i want to stay thailand legally for a few years and i just want to know a good idea for visa
Angelo ***********
@George *********
If you have no passport at all: you get no visa. And you can not even fly here.

If you have an old Iran passport, that is not expired, aka invalid: you can fly. If you need a visa, you have to check with the Thai embassy in Germany. If you do not need one, you can either come for 30 days and extend that (when here) for another 30 days, or if your nationality/country qualifies: you can come here for 60 days and extend for another 30 days.

Then again: if you have the funds/money and a passport, you can acquire a multiple entry tourist visa (METV), with leaving the country, and or extensions, you can stay up to 9month in Thailand.
Von ******
@George *********
without a passport you are not going to have a chance unfortunately.
Angelo ***********
@Henrik ****
There is no German "alien passport".
Von ******
One has to ask WHY you don’t meet the criteria as Refugee in Germany to obtain asylum and thereby a Passport.

Without an Iranian or German Passport you are not going to be able to reside in Thailand.

As for Thai citizenship, that is not going to happen.
Angelo ***********
@Von *****
Because a German Passport is nearly impossible to get?

- He is a refugee.

- That does not entitle him for a passport.

For a passport you need citizenship. He he does not get that either. To get citizenship, he needs to speak German, on a high level. Has to work, and except for "refugee status" he needs "permanent residency status" first. Being marries to a German might help, but not much.

Why do you not have a Thai citizenship? Oh? Same problem!

So, the only thing which could work, is: he gets a Persian passport from the Persian embassy in Germany. So at least he can travel. Which is unlikely, as the Persian government hates refugees that fled the country.

So, he could try to migrate to France. He could get - perhaps - a French citizenship over a course of 5 years. Which again requires to be close to fluent in French.

There is perhaps one or two countries in the world that gives you "freed citizenship", just because you are a refugee. And Germany is definitely not one of them. If we grant Asylum, then that is first of all only for the time you are in danger. You get an ID card, but no passport.

I do not know the exact rules, as they got changed just recently. But: you have to be about 10 years in Germany, and fulfill a sh***load of requirements to achieve it. And then it still takes several years until it is granted.

What you think why it is so hard to get citizenship in Thailand? Oh mistaken already. It is not hard. It is 1oo times more easy than getting one in Germany! (* I am German *)

I do not know a single Thai who has German citizenship. They all only have "permanent residency status" - hence: a Thai Passport and a German ID card.

the truth is often harsh in life . However what it isn’t is … wrong . This guy has little chance of even getting into Thailand let alone residing there . And as for citizenship well that’s barely possible for anybody the conditions are so tight .

This could be a good option for you if you can afford it. It gives you peace of mind. You aren't allowed to work in Thailand with it though- but could do something online.

Or when you get to 50, just get a retirement visa and extend it every year.

One more option is to teach English (and get a work permit with the job):if you can become a bit more fluent.

I am really sorry for the negative comments on here. Your situation sounds challenging and I hope you can find a good solution. Thailand is a lovely, safe and peaceful place to live. It's just not easy to get citizenship but the Thais are very generous with allowing foreigners to live here long term (as long as they don't break work rules). Best of luck!
