I think you live by your heart, not your head. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just not realistic in covid-terrified Thailand. Are you here long term, with satisfactory documents? If so, relax and enjoy it. Are you here, but fearing you may need to leave by 26 September? I am sorry your dreams will come to an end in that regard. Are you outside Thailand, yet wishing to return? I feel your pain. The main thing is stop arguing, take life positively and, yes, care for others, but don’t become obsessed and irritated. Life is too short🌴😎
the only problem with the piggy-backing is that if the person with the main extension passes away, then the piggy-backer loses all those benefits. However, if they both have an extension in their individual names, then there is no issue
I will, thanks, but on reflection I think I’m going to leave it until after the 26th Sep. It’s not due until 3rd November, so I have plenty of time to let potential numbers of amnesty holders do their thing. Things may change in that regard too. Who knows?
A very thorough walk-through! Many thanks, and I agree that things have changed so much over the years. I’ve been doing this for 16 years now, and the system is so much better these days. I do think it could be further enhanced with a booking system but that may never happen. Who knows? We just need to go with the flow and not get stressed.
thanks Stuart. I agree. He’s really very relaxed and does his best to accommodate everyone clutching a file of paperwork. I will do the usual and just turn up. It would be great if we could book a time though, wouldn’t it?..shame!
Thank you everyone for your replies and advice. I’ve always been successful doing it 45 days early here in Phuket. Does anyone know if there is a booking system there now for an appointment?
I am asking for a friend who wants to come down here from Hong Kong. Fortunately for me, I am here, in Phuket. As you say, she will just have to go to the Thai Embassy there, ask the questions and get on with it. Her point is that she sees Cathay Pacific’s flights arriving in Bangkok on a daily basis. So if she has all the correct relevant documents, can she just book on a Cathay flight of her choice and fly here, or does she have to accept a seat on a flight that the Embassy chooses.
