Can I book any airline to return to Thailand with a COE, or do I need a specific repatriation flight?

Could somebody please clear this up for me and apologies if this has been answered or explained before but if you have the COE, and all relevant documents, can you just book any airline to come back to Thailand, within the time frame of the covid test of course? Or do you have to come in on a repatriation flight and the day the embassy gives you?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around whether individuals with a Certificate of Entry (COE) can book any commercial flight to Thailand or if they must utilize a specific repatriation flight arranged by the embassy. The consensus suggests that while commercial flights may be an option, the COE may require confirmation of an ASQ (Alternative State Quarantine) booking and coordination with the embassy for flight arrangements.

It's booked by the Embassy. Re-pat flight.

I don’t think you will get a CoE issued without flight and ASQ booking.

At the London RTE they are advising not to book ASQ prior to having COE. Its written in red on their webpage. Rules maybe different elsewhere.

As far as I am aware she needs to go through the embassy.

I am asking for a friend who wants to come down here from Hong Kong. Fortunately for me, I am here, in Phuket. As you say, she will just have to go to the Thai Embassy there, ask the questions and get on with it. Her point is that she sees Cathay Pacific’s flights arriving in Bangkok on a daily basis. So if she has all the correct relevant documents, can she just book on a Cathay flight of her choice and fly here, or does she have to accept a seat on a flight that the Embassy chooses.

Thanks again for helping with advice
