just arrived last night 😁. Malee hopped on a Thai FB group afterwards and everyone right now is being automatically denied. She didn’t see anyone who said I just got my travel visa.

just went through the exact same thing for my sisters wedding (I am in the US now). Answer is they had turned her down before she even went to the interview. She owns a house, runs a company has 2 kids all in Thailand and was still denied.

You can’t get mad a zebra 🦓 for having stripes. That is what these groups do unfortunately

also unfortunately in these expat groups too many over inflate their knowledge of all things Thailand, don’t let it discourage you. Most of the westerners (Falangs) I have met here and nothing like some of the mean spirited people in these groups.

I apologize for all the ignorant, mean spirited or arrogant comments you received on your post. It is a great post. My Thai wife who grew up on a rural farm in Essan and now lives in a urban city Hua Hin, first told me that most Thai and Falangs eat out when I made the same observations as you upon arrival in Thailand. She said it is cheaper and easier to eat out (specifically Thai food) than cook. Of course Thai in more rural settings will cook at home more.

don’t let the FB groups scare you. I live in Hua Hin no issues with air quality and an incredible place to live as an over 50 American. Thailand has much more infrastructure than the surrounding countries. Feel free to message me. I moved here 1 years ago and it has been amazing ❤️
