No I don't. That's why I have the FCD account in Euro where I get my pension in Euros. From FCD I can exchange Baht whenever the rates seem good. It certainly beats a bulk transfer of Euro 2,000 in BTH at the beginning of every month.

Problems are only with FCD accounts and will start on October 1st.

It certainly would. But could you trust other Thai banks? They are all controlled by the "deep state" (sorry, can't define it more exactly because of the defamation laws). Best idea would be to leave your money in your home country.

Sorry, but I'm Austrian. Anyway, thanks for your time and your thorough research. Austrian bureaucracy is horrible and doesn't leave me a way out of my dilemma. Thanks a lot and all the best.

Sorry to hear that. I think that's only the beginning. Unfortunately it's usual in Thailand to deny any responsibility and blame the foreigners. By the way, Krungsri's Japanese parent company MUFG is in trouble and the Thai NPLs won't help.

Sorry if my post is confusing. I have a Baht account, they just won't have foreigners transfer into it from the FCD. I've been Krungsri customer for nearly ten years and until now everything worked well (just the usual temporary glitches but no serious problems).

Update: Krungsri hotline just told me that " only Thais will be allowed to transfer from their FCD accounts".

The problem is that my Austrian pension insurance insists on transferring my pension directly to my country of residence according to Austrian law.

Try to be more polite, the Turkish way may not work internationally.
