Our Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok still offers to provide you an affidavit letter to confirm your income if you can meet the financial requirements of 65K baht a month (

norske kroner). You therefore don’t need to prove funds or income in any other way. Just contact them by email provide the required information (skatteoppgjør) and pay a fee (Jeg tror det er rundt 280 kr) and they will email it to you.

All options above will work also a METV. A regular tourist visa is € 35, METV is €175. One local extension is €49. One visa exemption is free.

You will probably be fine with the immigration, the only issue could be as stated that your airline will ask for an onward ticket during check in. Best thing is to call your airline and ask and be prepared to buy a cheap onward ticket if it’s required.

@Rob ******
so you’re saying that even it’s formally stated at the embassy in London’s website, the e-visa application don’t ask for it?

First question is if you’re embassy in UK will issue a tourist visa without an onward ticket as it’s formally required. If you manage to get a tourist visa without an onward ticket, it’s anyway formally required for entering Thailand. It’s rarely checked at the immigration unless you’ll get pulled aside for some other reason regarding your travel patterns but you could risk that your airline will ask for it. So therefore, if you manage to get a tourist visa without an onward ticket, call your airline and ask if THEY require onward ticket if you’ve got a tourist visa. At the immigration in Thailand you’ll most probably will be fine anyway.

If it’s only for 90 days you could just apply for a 60 days regular tourist visa and do a 30 days local extension and buy a multiple re-entry permit at the immigration or the airport when you leave. I don’t think you’ll get re-entry on the last 30 days extension (only the initial 60 days tourist visa), but you can anyway just leave and re-enter on visa exemption the last month.

The airlines knows, but not all are strict. That’s the point. And you can’t tell in advance.
