correct at least that's what we're hoping we got the five entry one year OA retirement Visa and were there for two months of it so far and plan to go back in 6 months hopefully to finish it out.

correct, however it does not give you 90 days to be there.. you will have 30 days on your passport... as per Emirates Airlines, immigration, and the US Thailand Embassy.
A US 90-day tourist visa to Thailand gives you 90 days from issuance of the Visa. this is the way it was pre-covid if it has changed we aren't aware of it.. we have been there done that payed immigration fees for 30 days over on our 90-day Visa it was issued on November first we arrived December 1st and it expired February 1st..
