A tourist visa is only ever for 60 days. You have to apply for the other 30 in Thailand

Had you actually bought a visa in your country, you would have gotten 60 days, with 30 extension possible.

But you went for the free 30 day option, or Visa Exempt' no visa at all

There is no official limit, but this is TH. Several people have told me that officials are using their judgement as to whether these are really used for Tourism purposes, which of course many are not.

Its realistic to expect both sides to spot a loophole.
