I’ve recently arrived, 1st October on a 90 day Evisa non-O married to a Thai.
Opened my bank account and put 400k in ready for 2 months seasoning on the 20th October. Should be ready to apply for a year visa on 20th December.
My two questions are:
If I want to get the 60 day extension can I do this and apply for my year visa at the same time ? Or would my 400k need to stay in for the 60 day extension also and then I could get my 1 year visa ?
Also, If suvannakhet is now wanting proof of funds (400k ) each year I might go down the route of 40,000 baht monthly from overseas. Would this need to be put in on the same day of each month and would it need to be for the 60 day extension and the year visa, so essentially 14 months worth of 40k ?
Many thanks as usual.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on their ability to apply for a 60-day extension alongside a one-year visa application after depositing the required 400,000 THB in their bank account for visa seasoning. Additionally, they inquire about possible alternatives to the 400k proof of funds by transferring 40,000 THB monthly from overseas and its implications for the extension and yearly visa.
