Will you apply from your home country (staying there all the time from submitting application until approval), or are you preparing the application in your home country, and intend to apply from somewhere else?
Participant(e) anonyme It all depends where you will apply from. Search for reports of people who have applied successfully in that specific country. It's usually easier when applying from one's home country, but you would still have to show a proof of current location. In my home country (where I did not apply, since I do not live there), a utility bill is accepted. No idea about yours.
You have to be physically in the country you enter in "Current location" from the moment when you hit the submit button (in page 4 - Supporting documents) until your visa is approved. Some embassies require applicants to be legal residents of that country, inform yourself before deciding from which country you will be applying.
Irrelevant here, since the OP is in his home country, but some embassies require applicants to be legal residents and a hotel booking is not going to impressed them at all.
