What’s the difference in cost though. Ones free with a lower rate and the other you have to do 16 x £8 with a better rate?

The problem being is that each bank even in the same group has a different interpretation of what is the correct documentation

They did, it’s on my previous post. They wanted to charge 50k baht for the next 7 years until I reach 63. Then no payments until I die and covered up to 500k for life and health insurance. The Lady had baht signs in her eyes 😂

Thanks Peter. I wasn’t aware. But once I’ve got to 100k I won’t need to put massive amounts in. Nice to hear from someone who is informative, I’m off to the bank today and hopefully that leg is complete. My intentions on here where to try and help people go through the process of trying to do things without the help of Agents, to show the obstacles that you have to overcome following all the changes that have come in recently, Unfortunately, you become the point of ridicule from some but hopefully my posts help others. I will keep you posted of the outcome here in Nong Bua Lamphu

. Your response was very informative. I went into a branch of Krungthai Bank and they advised that if I can get immigration letter changed to their name, they will happily open the account. Fingers crossed
