If I were to draw a Venn diagram of the most helpful people and the snarkiest, the two would not intersect.

Meanwhile, Lyndon's comment is not only snarky, it's ignorant and unoriginal. The same type of comment is posted multiple times per week, every time someone says they're American. It's ignorant.

I have completed two immigration forms in the last few months where my citizenship was asked (I think they were in Germany and Singapore). In both cases, while "country of residence" was "United States", "citizenship" was American, which, honestly, is a bit confusing for those of us completing the forms (only if we are trying to find the name in a dropdown), but should not be an issue for those on a forum. They know exactly what folks mean. I hope, at least, that folks do...was Lyndon honestly confused?

When I traveled throughout Central America and said I was from the United States, actually trying to be sensitive to exactly this issue, people would respond, "Oh, you're American." I stopped bothering. I actually usually tell folks my state nowadays, since the U.S. is so large and diverse and most folks (throughout the world, including Canadians, who are the ones whom I most run into from the Americas, other than those from the U.S.) still say, "Oh, you're American".

I set this "joke" (if it can even be called that when it's so old and tired) off at the pass in my post, so why was it necessary? Why is ignorance funny?

But, I'll remind you that he also could have just scrolled by rather than to ask me a question that I'd already answered.

Thank you. I’m actually not worried about the length. My current stay ends on Nov. 5th. I’m now leaving on the 15th (I hope). I just need to get this settled in the couple days I’m in Bangkok. Traveling is complicated for me, because I’m carrying refrigerated medication. I don’t want to go to Hua Hin, if I’m going to encounter an immigration issue and need to rush back to leave the country. I don’t anticipate one, because I’ve not been in Thailand since 2020. However, I just don’t want to take any chances. Murphy hates me 🙂.

I anticipated your snark and preemptively addressed it. There’s always one.

Oh, wow! I just actually looked at the list. This is really helpful. I will try to make an appointment. I also forgot about the attire…phew! I hope the hotel can help me with the copying and printing. I have no idea where to go for such things.

I knew that offices differed, which is why I asked. Thanks for the list. I appreciate it.

I know they verified me. I just don’t know how I then initiate transfers when I’m ready.
