If your a tourist staying less than 45 days obtain the free no hassle tourist visa upon arrival. No need or reason to apply for a tourist visa.

90 days as mentioned above I do not believe is currently in place and phased out after Covid. Good luck and welcome.

There are lots of very answers on this topic below. It is my understanding that an international drivers license in Thailand means nothing. Check out Thailand department of transportation for the facts.

Get the Thai embassy in your country and do it right. Too many conflicts written here some are correct, others not. Best to deal direct with embassy in your country.

She needs to check with her embassy. I think she will need to buy the STV Visa if it’s even still available, pay for 14 quarantine in advance, and prove proof of paid housing for the next 60-90 days after quarantine. Your lease may work. Lots of hoops, paperwork and cost involved. Good luck.

I’ve been very happy with the customer service at Bangkok Bank. Although I just learned SCB has a better more robust app for paying online accounts like all Utiliities. Do choose a location close to where you live as you will need annual balance letters generated reflecting your ฿800,000 activity. They only do that at your original location. Same for address changes etc. Wire transfers in are smooth and easy. Welcome

got it. Not desirable for sure and risky as well. This is my community here. Thanks all for the input.

thank you Narelle. I’m guessing we are landlocked if we want to be secure in our ability to stay in Thailand for the foreseeable future. Be well.
