TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is looking to reapply for their long-stay A-O visa and is seeking recommendations for medical insurance that accepts retirees over 70 years old. They are also concerned about the implications of not securing a visa in February 2021 and the possibility of being stranded in Thailand without flights back to South Africa. Responses suggest various insurance providers such as Maine Insurance, AIG, LMG, and Falcon that cater to older clientele, as well as considerations for changing visa types and applying for extensions based on marriage to a Thai citizen.

You cant apply for an OA visa in Thailand. Why not apply for a 1 year extention of stay based on marriage?
Bobby ********
Steve Greir. That's my thinking. He can extend the existing OA, but if he's legally married, why not go down that avenue? Financially it's a better deal (from the immigration perspective that is 🤣 Marriage can create additional financial burdens in another direction)

Just use an agent.

you can only change reason within 45 days of expiry of current visa ... best to wait for Visa to expire . However . It can be done with under counter payment

Tod Daniels. Can he change to a non-O (married to Thai) from an OA visa in country?
Steve *******
@Bobby *******
He cant change the visa but he can change the reason for his extention of stay from being over 50 to marriage.
Bobby ********
Steve Greir. Thanks. That's what I was getting at. I know you can't go from OA to O (retirement), but I did think you could go to O (marriage). Cheers.
