Cannot read it. Does it ask for anything from the USA to prove you were never married?

How did the Embassy confirm it. Can you post a better resolution picture? I cannot even read the form number.

Then maybe he can get it in Minnisota and have it notorized at the Embassy.

The U. S. Embassy (Dept. Of State) is not going to have any idea if he was married before and issuing those letters is not something they do.

Clearly, people get married in Thailand. So your logic is amiss somewhere.

I don't know if there is such a document but if you go to the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Minnesota they should be able to help. May need to get it notorized.

Which rules? The official, posted rules, or the invisible rules?

@Greg *****
I suspected that. Then you should know.

Yes, you are a guest.

However,

It is Thailand. It is hard to follow imaginary rules or one's that change without notice depending who you are dealing with.

That is why we need sites like this to share what Immigration is doing.

Oddly enough, Thai Immigration also scans these sites as if knowing the rules in advance is cheating.

I was writing about before STV.

2+ years of crackdowns on long-stay tourists has not worked well for Thailand and made them more dependent on China.

My understanding is that STV is a temporary visa type. It will be interesting to see in it carries on after Covid.

Chinese are on 2 week group tours. As a group, they fill a hotel, buy some things, visit certain sites and go home.

A longer term tourist will spend more in different locations over the 60+ days they are here.

Unless they are young backpackers (who spend money too), most of a long-term tourist's income will come from abroad and spent in Thailand.

Chinese are quick money for some places.
