Phuket was bars open until 11pm when I was there a few weeks ago. Mind you, many were still closed, but there was a lot of work going on.

The test at the airport is pretty straightforward and quick to perform. No hassle. And honestly, since you will be booked in a SHA+ hotel, you may as well book transport through them. Takes the onus off of you.

I think it comes down to the specific hotel, and how they are used to communicating. Also, from my Sandbox experience, the hotel seems to have to have the cash in hand/account before things progress. Not sure how they get paid through the 3rd party sites. It may take a day or so longer for them to get their $$$.

And I think the more Thai stamps in your passport (or the longer the visa), the more likely for success.

I was wondering the same thing

. Vaccination never came up in the question, so I was also wondering why she just doesn't use the Thai passport when entering.

In any case, think when hitting the immigration, she should just present both passports, if the vaccinations and Pass were done under the non Thai name.

you have to stay in your room until your test results are received.

I almost bought one of AXA. But even though it says Covid coverage, you need to read the actual policy, because when I did, there was no mention of Covid coverage in the actual policy. (even if it does cover it). At the airport, the guy scanned my doc specifically looking for the phrase, and the amount covered for.

Right now, for the arrival testing, if you enter via BKK, you have to test at your hotel. Phuket is where you test at the airport. (which was VERY convenient).
