A video discussing a man's experience with COVID-19 in Thailand raises questions about quarantine protocols. Commenters express confusion over why he was placed in a shared quarantine facility instead of being isolated in a hospital. Many comments reflect frustration with the travel protocols during the pandemic, highlighting concerns over health risks, the validity of COVID-19 tests, and the overall management of positive cases in Thailand.
(I posted this on the Youtube page as well. We don't have all the details.)
I have questions:
1. Is this the hotel you stayed at from arrival?
2. When did you get your positive test result in relation to this video? 6 hours previous? 24 hours?
3. Did you have Thai Insurance? Or non Thai?
I don't know if the first place in the video is his first or 2nd hotel. Then he disappears from the hospital (So now he is a fugitive), and books ANOTHER room in another (2nd?? 3rd??) hotel.
Seems he basically left the 1st place after being told to stay (after 2 hours according to him) and they tracked him down at a hotel and then put him in a more secure place. The guy was positive and quite happy to spread it around cause “he” felt fine. No sympathy sorry. This is a good example of why there’s plenty of virus being spread and infecting vulnerable people. Just pathetic!
The injustice is so profound it honestly makes me feel like screaming. The utter stupidity but also the sinister nature of this scam is nauseating. Using valuable resources for asymptomatic patients. Ramming shit up their nose for no reason other than beaurocratic crap made up by someone with the IQ of a fucking chimpanzee.
It is not clear to me why was the man put into quarantine with 20 other people? I thought after being covid positive, one goes to hospital (alone in a room).
My guess is that he got his result late afternoon and the hotel he stay at from start was not a Hospitel and they could not find anything that late for him. It's hard when no one speaks good english and the tourist do not speak a word of thai. Then they go rude and non informative when it's a serious situation.
all these rules are ridiculous to me. To take a man who is alone in his apartment to such a dirty place with so many other people... Crazy! We should be travelling to phuket in 6 days but now i am more and more convinced to stay at home. I cant imagine to experience such a nightmare with 1 year old baby.
In case it was free compare to the risk to get a 200k+ bill I would had been ok in a way. I would had made friends as I speak thai and it's not worse than living in a bamboo hut in the forest as I have done that for longer than he has to stay in this building. It only need a good emagination and find games to play then the days fly away.
