yes they are but I'm not aware of immigration offices inside Thailand accepting same sex marriage for the purposes of obtaining an extension of stay. I would check with your local immigration office where you will live in Thailand and that you will apply for the extension of stay at.
do immigration recognise same sex marriage now? I didn't think they did. He could potentially get a Non-O based on being married in the Netherlands but then what? A Non-O based on being over 50 may be the only option for him.
Anonymous participant 264 there's a difference between having to file a tax return and having to pay tax. First off there are a number of allowances that can be claimed before you even get near the 0% assessment band. But to get there you have to file a tax return
I answered your question. The 120k limit exists so if you bring less than that in assessable income into Thailand in a tax year you don't need to complete a return
You only become a Thai tax resident if you spend 180 days or more inside Thailand in a calendar year. The 120k limit is exists but the limit for getting a TIN is 60k baht. It doesn't matter how you bring assessable income into Thailand so pretty much anyone bringing earned income into Thailand is going to have to do both
yea, the MFA talk about 6 months but they are not the guys in charge of stamping you into the country. I do agree you'd be silly to travel with less than 6 months unless you were somewhere that it was impossible to obtain a new passport
this is true but in the case of Thailand they have no minimum requirement, they simply won't stamp you in for any period beyond the validity of your passport
before you start with clown emoticons can I suggest you look at the 2 graphics I posted above. You will clearly see that Brazil is on the list of countries that can enter visa exempt and get stamped in for 60 days. Brazil is also on the list that get a Visa On Arrival which gives them 90 days but that involves purchasing a visa on landing in Thailand for 2000 baht, rather obviously this is not a visa exempt entry.
