I've had visas issued on a Saturday and on a Sunday. No idea why.

Uploading a scan of your previous passport only makes sense if it contains your current entry stamp/visa.

Do I need to upload a scanned copy of my old passport?

Participant(e) anonyme Does it contain your current Chinese entry stamp/visa? If yes, it would have made sense to upload a scan of it. However, you cannot upload anything if there is no request for additional documents. If you've done the upload already, the only thing you can do is wait for them to either issue/deny the visa or request further documents.

“Other request documents: all pages of your passport”

My new passport is brand new with no records. My old passport has my multiple entry and exit records. But I have only uploaded my new passport so far. I don't see any mention of the need for an old passport in the requirements document. I can't upload it again now.

Participant(e) anonyme You're in China, right? You have been stamped in when entering its territory, right? If THIS stamp is in your previous passport, you should have sent both scans, just to be sure. There's nothing you can do now, you can only wait. Maybe they will be fine with the current passport only, maybe they wanted to see your entry stamp, there is no way to know for sure. That's why uploading both would have made sense (if your CURRENT CHINESE ENTRY STAMP is in your old passport).

What you said is correct. I am in China and my entry stamp is on my old passport. Because my old passport is about to expire, I applied for a new passport. It seems that we can only wait now. Hope everything goes smoothly.

Looking at your timeline i can see no problem with your application. If i had to guess the embassy i would say its saigon. They are the ones who seem lately interested on “ all pages in your passport”. At this point you application is waiting to be analyzed by a senior officer with adjutication capabilities. Not all officers have this cleareance thus the extra days you are currenly experiencing. Looking at an old passport does not seem logical to me at this point as that document is voided/cancelled and cant be considered for the application. But it can happen . It all depends on the officer but if you submitted everything else they wanted i think you should be fine. All the best 🙏

Thank you very much for your reply. Because I applied on May 22nd and have been waiting for a long time. The status has only recently changed. I pay close attention to progress every day. I applied at Royal Thai Consulate General, Shanghai.

Anonymous participant than you are fine my man. I dont have much info about shanghai but i think you should have applied in Hanoi/Jakarta as those seem to have expedited visa processes. Well nothing you can do now. Give it a couple of days and if you are in the area go and knock at their doors it wont hurt your application. In my case i applied at Hanoi and due to thr volume of applications they dont seem to answer emails or at least that was my case . Shanghai im sure is a different story. Good luck 🙏

Yes, this is the article I previously posted. It has been a month since May 22nd, and I have called the embassy twice to urge them to handle it. There is currently progress. They required me to provide all pages of my passport, but I only uploaded a new passport. I still have an old passport that hasn't been uploaded.

Anonymous participant when they ask for all pages they mean every single page including blank pages. This is often a final check to make sure you are still in the country you applied from

Why would you send an old passport? It's dead. Gads, barely 3 business days since you submitted documents, relax.

You'll need to tell us which embassy you applied at. People with experience applying there will have an idea of how long it takes to process an application
