Anonymous participant ridiculous or not, inconvenient for you or not, that's the case. Get the paperwork to convert inside Thailand and the problem solves itself.

The elite is a bit of a special case

I don't think the embassy in the UK will issue a dependant (trailing spouse) visa to your wife if you get the Non-O based on being over 50 so you will each need your own visas. Joint accounts generally need double the money in them as it gets split across account holders

Yes generally you pay at the end, but paying is not contingent on success. The only way you won't pay is they refuse to accept your paperwork

Anonymous participant immigration officers know absolutely nothing about applying for a visa outside of Thailand. Applications at consulates are handled by a totally different organisation.

It depends. The money can be in a term deposit as long as you can get instant access to the money, even if that means you get penalised for doing so. It can't be in a term deposit where you can't access your money for any period of time

Anonymous participant no it won't. The application will be refused.

Well given the poster has a Union Jack on his profile it's pretty obvious he's from the UK

Anonymous participant because you can't cancel a visa and you can't simultaneously hold 2 visas. A visa application at a consulate will be refused due to the fact you already hold a visa.

@Jack *******
you think? And also remember it is not immigration that issues the visas, totally different organisation with different rules.
