This is probably the most cost effective way to do this.

I’m going through this process with one of my employees at the moment.

It’s a bit of documentation that needs to be gathered and sometime certified.

This is my first time extending a Non B for a foreign employee so it’s taken some time to get everything together, but if your employer has hired foreigners before, they should have this fairly well organised.

The main issue is that some documents have to be generated within a certain time frame to be accepted (like company registration cert no older than 6 months.

The extension aspect is normally handled in conjunction with your employer as to be granted the extension company documentation needs to be submitted.

I would suggest that if your son is currently in Bangladesh, that he contacts the Thai embassy there to see what options might be available.

There is a visa / extension of stay based on seeing family members, however I don’t know if this applies to children visiting parents on a work permit - normally it allows a foreigner to visit their spouse in Thailand.

Ok, just confirming you’re talking about a Non Immigrant ED Visa to study in Thailand that you entered on correct?

From what I’ve discovered you can not move from an ED Visa to a Non B easily in country - even if you have the correct

amount of days left on an active stamp.

This was pre-covid, but I haven’t seen anyone successfully change over without paying a huge fee to some visa agent that makes it happen, however I don’t know how legitimate that process is.

Some of the teachers that people like Richard Barrow couldn’t successfully get new stamps were in similar situations. Stamps that can’t be changed in country for some reason.
