Can anyone clarify for me (I’m a newbie to this and I’m a little confused about a lot of the processes here.......). Just received my work permit. Am I correct to say that now I need to apply for extension of my Non-imm B visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
After receiving your work permit in Thailand, you will need to apply for an extension of your Non-Imm B visa. It is typically necessary for your employer to assist with this process by providing the required documentation for the extension, which should be handled closer to the expiry date of your current visa.
I’m going through this process with one of my employees at the moment.
It’s a bit of documentation that needs to be gathered and sometime certified.
This is my first time extending a Non B for a foreign employee so it’s taken some time to get everything together, but if your employer has hired foreigners before, they should have this fairly well organised.
The main issue is that some documents have to be generated within a certain time frame to be accepted (like company registration cert no older than 6 months.
trying to but to be honest they’re a little slow getting back to me and the people trying to help me don’t seem to be well versed in the process for foreigners. I only received the work permit on Monday so maybe they’re looking into it as well?
