IDP is easy and cheap to obtain in the UK. RAC always stamp the motorcycle endorsement on the IDP, and the UK license appears to have motorbikes due to the confusing moped and motortrike endorsements on the back.

If you have a full UK car license, you can get both car and bike licenses in Thailand without a test, which is also very cheap and easy (and kinda cool to have).

InsureAndGo Lite can give you and annual travel insurance for about £27 (for single trips up to 90 days), and add motorbike (up to 125cx) cover for about another £10.

@Ian ********
having said that, I managed to get a Smart Visa with the Revolut Premium account, and that required a 12 month insurance policy (it just meant I wasn't actually covered for much of 2021)

yes, I opened the account in 2020 to cover insurance for ASQ, I kept the Premium up since then, handy to have huh? Less than £100 a year, and I rarely travel for more than 90 days at a time

I used it for a year visa in 2020, when things were way more strict, and they were none the wiser (it didn't actually cross my kind at the time that it was for trips up to 90 days only)

If empty, then the boxes will be completing fine.

If filled with explosive devices, then there could be a problem.

They're all lame and teach you a style of Thai which only TV presenters use. Go hook up with a nice bar girl, learn some decent Thai.

Not the best advice, but personally if I got to 81 at the end of a 20 year Thai Elite, I'd consider just throwing my passport in the river and staying put.

Yer I'd go with Benjamin's final suggestion, sort your visa out and let kiddo overstay.
