I tried Bangkok with no luck. After three banks there I gave up. Two said no because of my visa type and one asked for a document from my embassy that they will not provide.
ok, I'm just telling you what Bangkok Bank told me and my experience. How many new accounts did you open this year at this location?
Banking there for many years doesn't equal opening an account this year nor is it relvant for the original post because they aren't in Jomtien. So checking if you have recent knowledge of opening new accounts or just banking there for many years.
And feel free to assume what you like about me. I've seen your smart-ass comments on other posts before.
it was in Jomtien so probably not helpful for you. Called Thai Visa Pattaya.
You'll want your bank account to be in the region where you live because of fees and paperwork for visas. Each branch appears to be separate from what I've heard. The agents have a "relationship " with someone at the local branch and this allows the process to work to get set up.
There are many agents across the country. Suggest you find a local one near you
using an agent to open a bank account is easy and is a one time event not an annual renewal type of situation.
The renewal comments that people make are in reference to having an agent help get their visa and "fund" their bank account so that they dont have to deposit 800k baht. Since you're only opening an account that is not relevant for you.
I used an agent recently to open a bank account (different region but process is similar). There are a few things needed but it is a simple process and I had the account open within 1

hours. Total cost was 8000 baht. Part of that was the agency fee and part was the banks insurance fee (which you will likely have to pay even if you open yourself and costs up to 5000). So the extra cost to have the agent do it was not bad, saved time of trying to go to 20+ bank branches, and saved a lot of stress. Worth it in my opinion.
it says visa fee it doesn't say entry fee or extension fee. And no, all multi entry visas don't work that way. The METV is one time $200 visa fee and 1900 baht for each extension. not pay the "visa fee" for each extension. While not clear, the DTV appears to be the same approach. A one time visa fee of ~10,000 baht ( but in reality that actually varies by consulate location and country) and zero mention of an extension fee in the documents.
While I value your knowledge on most posts, I read the document differently. The extension fee is NOT listed on the documents nor in the gazette.
no I read both your incorrect reesponse and the article. It appears that you don't understand what is written in the article. Read the article again. Your understanding does not match the article content.
It explicitly states 180 days per year plus an extension.
It seems similar to the METV. 6 months validity but with only 60 days per visit. Can enter multiple times getting 60 days each time. With the METV and extensions some folks are able to get almost 9 months stay from the 6 month visa that only allows 60 days per visit.
the communication issue appears to be with your misunderstanding. The "4 accounts" comment is asking YOU where YOU were able to opened the 4 accounts. The OP only wants to open one new account for himself and trying to find options on where that is easily accomplished and asking since you were able to open 4...
thanks. This link says exactly how I described it. 180 days in a year, that can be extended an additional 180 days. Not 180 days spaced out over 5 years.
"5-year multiple-entry visa and the right to stay in Thailand for a total of 180 days a year, with an option to extend for another 180 days. "
So, in theory, it can be 360 days in a year and therefore ~1800 days over 5 years.
Thanks for sharing the link that proved my point. Now let's see start the details are if they actually create this visa.
