ahh they told me it was £15 or £20 a time depending on which conversion rate I choose. I pay under £4 with Transferwise and it usually arrives in seconds at a good rate. I will check the last rate I got.
it does take two days and cost is about 10 X Transferwise though. I transfer GBP everymonth and it arrives in THB at a good conversion. Far better than I would get here.
I don't think they would qualify as teachers for the major International Thai Schools as the documentation and requirements are much higher in Thailand then Burma.
If you have a temp driving licence with your residence on the back and a certificate of residence from immigration (100 baht) or your Embassy (British 2400 baht) it is fairly easy. I walked into Bangkok and put 500k on the counter and asked for an account. I bought their 500 baht insurance and debit card and was out in 40 minutes (including the compulsory walk through ATM usage lesson)
