I went to Jomtien immigration this afternoon for standard 90-day check-in with no changes. I was in and out in under 5 minutes. I waited longer to get a number than I did to get service once inside. I confirm that my passport with any and all goodies stapled in (obviously including slip from previous check-in) is all that was required.
Just can't be bothered with the inconsistency I seem to get from the online or app as far as working or not. And I'm pretty computer savvy. I live just a VERY short ride from the Jomtien office so I go and avoid the frustration. Maybe if I lived further away I would try harder. And this check-in is after a fresh extension so think I would have to go in person anyway or so some have said.
Nothing "under consideration" or anything unusual. They did not take out the old form and said nothing about next 90 day reporting date. And I simply didn't think to ask. No worries. I live very close to my office so easy to stroll in and ask early or simply go on or near the date in the old form and they'll let me know one way or the other.
Thanks! This reminds me that I need to make new copies of my current/new extension stamp. And I'll want stuff like that while the passport is out of my possession for renewal next year.
Thanks! Yes, I know I have plenty of time but yes I will need to allow plenty of time to get it renewed before next December. In my case, it is via the US Embassy. Once I have the new passport I will stop in at my Chonburi immigration office for a chat about requirements.
Ah, gotcha. Well, I can only give them what I can give them. And that was limited more or less by immigration. Can't see any options available at this point even if they don't like it. I'll just make sure I am friendly and cordial even if I have to escalate to an officer's superior.
I'm going to guess why you asked which Feb. I arrived Feb 2020 on my first O-A. That is when I opened my bank acct. I mistakenly did not do any updates until recently. I learned the errors of my ways when I did not get all activity since opening back in Feb. And you may or may not be confused as to why I'm renewing already. In case you are, my insurance was acquired Dec 2019 and expires next week Dec 22. But I did not come to Thailand until Feb 2020. Immigration checked the insurance database and set my visa to expire along with the current insurance. So in round numbers I only got 10 months out of my first visa as opposed to the full 12. I've been told I could have had the insurance company "adjust" the date in the immigration database but that lesson came after the fact. But now this year and going forward I can have insurance and visa expiration dates in sync.
