the other thing is you can only have the App on one phone at a time(K bank anyway). My wife got a new phone and had to sit in the bank and have it removed from the old phone with the employee then installed and new copies of id supplied.
if you are in the country at the time, no worries, outside I would suggest you would have to visit a consulate, I would be asking personally after you get to Thailand with the current one
We are also over 70 and had a similar experience. Finished up using our credit card insurance and as happens, my wife tripped and broke her ankle. The hospital bill and upgraded flight home cost $20k Australian. We only had to show we paid for our travels using the card, and the annual fee for the card was less than quotes we had for insurance, being retired I only applied for a low credit limit. Have a look around.
have you seen the tube of Retired working for you guy. He interviewed the head of the visa section in foreign affairs, he explained all the visa requirements, good interview
Not sure of you nationality, but with the new 60 day entry on visa exemption, do you in fact need a visa. Or otherwise look at the 5 year multiple entry, 180 day is a very good option, have a look at the "retired working for you" vlog on YouTube he has just interviewed the head man at Thai Foreign Affairs, very informative
not sure, go to the Thaicitizenship.com page, there will be an article on it there I am sure. It will be arranged by the Thai authorities as part of the process of applying.
This might be a long bow, but lots of Lao are Isaan and live in Northern Thailand with Thai ID. If she has Blood related family, she may be able to claim Thai heritage by family, during the Vietnam war, when Laos was closed, lots of Lao settled with family in Isaan. Thailand does a DNA test to prove the relationship, It's a long shot, but I have friends in Australia, originally from Lao, whose children (born in Australia) have gotten Thai ID through uncles and Aunts living in Thailand.
I agree with the DTV visa, as not only will it let you come and go for 180 days a time it will allow you to keep your British pension rights. It won't mean your pension is frozen after living in Thailand
