Having shown certification from ones bank of £5000 pp 6 months prior to travel generally is a good indicator one isn’t working & has adequate funds. Whilst I’ve heard plenty of cases of SETV holder being refused entry, I’ve never heard of anyone holding a METV being refused entry to the Kingdom. I’ve never been questioned or stopped whilst holding an Elite Visa.
As said 000’s of times previously, entry to the Kingdom is discretionary, based upon an individual IO, clearly he/she believes you are working in Thailand. If you wish to spend longer here, are under 50 & not working or studying they want you on a METV or Elite Visa. Both require money, which Thailand wants.
a well respected & known agent in Penang, has conveyed this information to my brother in the last 3 months, 200 SETV’s via agents (collectively) issued per day. Hence the message from Jim recently reiterating the need for everyone to have documentation in order & not have extensive SETV history without further scrutiny being initiated. The agents don’t want all their clients being rejected.
They are limiting the number of Visa’s issued daily. Unless you meet every criteria & have supplementary evidence if required you’ll be ‘red stamped’ & told to go elsewhere. Vientiane is friendly.
So your German, but don’t speak the language? or understand your own tax system. How are you going to pay tax in the EU if you reside in Thailand? Do you have a business there?
