Good morning to all and thanks for adding me to this group.
I had my son born in Koh Samui a year ago.
After he was born we issued a passport for him (German, his father have as well) and now I would like to get him registered in Germany so he can have all the rights and I can pay taxes so he can be covered by national insurance in Germany. I have contact the German embassy and got little help specially as I don’t speak German. Dose one know how to register a child that never even visited Germany as a legal citizen?
Do you know if my husband can become a citizen as he already got a passport?
Thank you very much
Good day
Ayelet

TLDR : Answer Summary
A mother seeks advice on registering her son, born in Koh Samui, as a German citizen while navigating challenges due to language barriers with the German embassy. She also inquires if her husband can acquire citizenship due to having a German passport.
Unfortunately this is a group that is about visas and extensions for thailand. While the admins do let threads somewhat related run on the group too, this one is just too far off. Sorry.
So your German, but don’t speak the language? or understand your own tax system. How are you going to pay tax in the EU if you reside in Thailand? Do you have a business there?
