that's fair enough, but in this case you've got it a little wrong. You also seem to consistently try to dissuade people from getting a DTV. If the embassy will grant me a 5 year DTV then I'm going to go for that. It's up to the embassy to choose whether I or anyone else gets it. And so long as I do what I said I would do on my application then no problem. You seem to be projecting northern European ideals and wishes onto Thailand. Like your body is in Thailand, but your mind is still back in Europe. If you think I'm wrong then we can continue this discussion in Thai and we will see.

Sefton HanleyI looked into the incidents you mentioned and it seems to be them throwing the book at people who post content they don't like. In practice, from what I've seen over the years, immigration will tend to go for the low hanging fruit where they can go round to visit someone and catch them in the act. And especially where it's in a more public setting such as teaching in a school without a work permit or perhaps working on a market stall. I've seen westerners working on market stalls and thought it was a bit bold, but I don't know if they were caught for it. There was the woman with her sexy yoga classes in Phangan recently though...

that's fair enough. I'm just pointing out that in recent years, no one seems to have landed in hot water for work not connected to Thailand. At least, I haven't been able to find anything. To my knowledge only the DTV explicitly allows remote work.

I agree, but we all know AI is often completely wrong so we should never use it as a source. E.g. calling a chimpanzee a gorilla, saying that Fury and Joshua have fought etc etc.

One visa with one set of rules and 3 different reasons they'll grant it. Simple. (Hopefully)

there is one visa and 3 ways to get it. It doesn't matter which way we choose to be granted the visa, it is still the same visa with just one set of rules for holders. Of course, we should do what we said we'd do when applying.
