I would love to get some info from recent DTV applicants to the UK embassy. I'm most interested in the financial requirements. Some posts in this group are only weeks apart but they seem to suggest different rules were applied. Anyone have a definitive answer?
Thanks in advance 😀

TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent applicants for the DTV visa at the UK embassy in Thailand have reported varying financial requirements. Common themes include that money may not need to be seeded, but applicants must provide recent bank statements and show proof of funds. Some users noted the need for funds to be in the applicant's name, while others successfully used funds from partners or family members. Individual processing of applications means experiences can differ significantly.
I recently applied as a dependent (with my husband being the DTV holder) and showed my husbands thai bank statements (3 months worth) and the money (500K baht) had been in his account for the whole time AND a letter of financial support HOWEVER they did request further documentation that the money (£11,000) had to be in an account in MY name...
Fortunately between myself, my mum and my MIL we had it all transferred to one account to show the final balance as £11,000. I had to have the bank statements printed and a "wet stamp" from the branch!
I don't know but some comments I've seen imply they require 3 months of statements but the balance doesn't have to be for the full amount for the whole 3 months. It's clear as mud 🤣
Anonymous participant It certainly varies by embassy. We have also seen where recent deposits are accepted in the UK. You said you saw a post where 3 months were required. I can only assume it was due to a staff member???
