thank you for your reply! Just to respond to your points:

1. What timeframe is normal?

2. Why would you say that? I DO have an LLC, incorporated in the US with articles of organisation etc. For the consultancy work I do it is important for some contract bids. I just set it up recently. I was working as a freelance multimedia journalist/communications specialist for humanitarian/UN organisations as well as news/media for the past 12 years.
