I picked up a one month covid extension today, did the paperwork a couple of weeks ago and was under "consideration"

I checked off the box "embassy doesn't provide letter" and got my stamp today.

But yes, I think it depends on who you get. I had a multiple entry visa from back home, valid till the so could technically have left the country, gotten new Thai Pass and come back for 2 more months but with the world as it is, I cut my losses and settled for one month and my 2nd covid extension (2 months and now one more month)

I went to apply for my 2nd covid visa extension on the 25th.

I got it straight away the first time but this time I'm "under consideration" and will have to wait till I go pick it up on the 19th.

I left 14 months ago after being told the same thing, I was sitting in the airport at the gate when a friend sent me a link telling me they would change the rules 24hours and 5 minutes after I left...

I got my (first) covid extension Friday on a METV so still possible

You can get a test done outside if you have been travelling in provinces with high corona or if you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive.

it was, or at least it was today but rules change all the time. I wasn't aware of it till i stood there but I managed to talk my way into a free test :p

no, I just got the one month extension but you need a covid test taken no later than 72 hours before you show up at immigration

you need a covid test 72 hours before you show up or politely ask the people to give you a free test there.

Might be better to get the test beforehand unless you speak a little thai

I got my normal one month extension, besides that, I fear you will just have to wait and see what happens next
