which UK credit cards ? NatWest and Barclays seem ok with my 'situation', but I maintain my time here is not permanent, I have properties in London where my accounts are registered. Neither will send cards directly. Revolut have offered to send directly to Thailand as it would be an emergency.
Have you heard the phrase 'hand luggage only'. Its mentioned by groups travelling together to ensure that all in the group bring ONLY hand luggage, to ensure they all pass through the journey together, at the same speed with the minimum interruptions and stoppages. I am genuinely fascinated to learn why you would bring a 17kg German Shepard to thailand, which is not very pet friendly, where there is gangs of dogs on every street corner. You will spend every minute worrying about your dog. You won't be able to visit places you'd like to. It's just shi⁹ po but. I would love knod rmh they
that's my point, insurance is only good if it's paying out. Some insurers might not cover motorbike riding as standard (as with scuba diving), and many more will not pay out for any of the many usual reasons not to pay out, not having the relevant bike licence in their home country, and the corresponding international permit, or not having the Thai driving licence required after 1yr stay, lack of helmet, presence of alcohol/drugs and Having or have had a number of pre existing medical conditions. But if you fit with that criteria you hope to be paid out. I'm sure they might reject every claim for any random reason, just to dissuade the claimant proceeding - interesting to know those figures too. Anyone claim and not get an initial rejection ? Anyone claim and feel like they had the support of the insurance company, rather than feel scrutinised ?
I wouldn't say dangerous to not have insurance, as there are many many stories of people NOT getting paid on claims. What's dangerous is to not have the resources, either here or in your home country, to cover yourself in the event you need it. The odds of getting into trouble are the same, insurance or not. It would be interesting to learn the true figures on those unable to claim. I good friend is not getting his claim paid for a one month stay in hospital after bad motorbike accident, on account that he once sought treatment for anxiety, many years ago..
Thailand was always 2 months behind Europe in terms of strains/waves. And Thailand doesn't have the medical resources of a European country. Less critical care beds, ventilators etc, Deathrates could well hit the roof, so a little extra patience is apparently wanted.
I'm not condoning it, as people on these visas bring the heat on everyone, but I did read that the two who applied for new passports weren't linked to the previous visas. Why did you not take the ED visa and learn Thai language out of curiousity ? Similar price ...(question to the OP not you James 😂)
Yes of course. Monopoly. Cash Cow. Whoever set up that route will be sitting on a pile of cash. It's not my area of expertise, but I don't know of any other airport owned entirely by any one airline.
