Yes, prohibited in Thailand. The idea is that you do your freelance work outside Thailand

Not in my case they didn't. But I had to go to the Thai Embassy in Tokyo for quite a strict interview

Perhaps people want the convenience of QR code payments so much that they are willing to do that. I wouldn't mind doing that, put say 100,000 baht in at a time and that should last a while

Do you have to show proof of funds when re-entering Thailand with a DTV visa?

I've heard that the only time you might get asked for proof of funds again is if you extend the visa whilst in Thailand. But other than that you are free to go in and out for 5 years without having to show proof of funds again

is correct, we are bringing a lot to the economy by being here, it's the only reason they created the DTV. And they made it purposely easy to get it, so why would that not be a good idea?
