Hi folks, soon I will start my online application for the DTV. Before I get started, I would like to know if after I begin the applicaiton, and I realise that perhaps I have the wrong document / forgot a document, can the application be saved mid way through and then I go back to it later? Or does it all have to be done in one sitting? I am applying from Japan, and Japan seems to require several more documents than other country's Thai embassies. Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can save your DTV visa application at any time before submission, allowing you to return and edit your application as needed. This means you don't have to complete the application in one sitting, which is particularly useful given the additional document requirements at Thai consulates in Japan.

and do you live IN Japan long term? because it's mostly only japanese nationals that are using the consulates there due to the requirements they have for getting visas thru them

You select your nationality and then select the consulate you will use in Japan, and then you start uploading documentation and entering the data, you can stop and save it at any time in your profile and go back to it, edit anything but your nationality and the consulate you're applying at

You can save and edit the application UNTIL you submit it to the consulate, then it is locked and if there's a mistake, you are stuck

also for document submission, can I upload multiple PDF files, or will I need to merge all documents into one single PDF file? Thanks!

you have permanent residency? They are the only foreign residents who can apply. I also have lived a long time in Tokyo but on a renewable visa had to apply outside of Tokyo.

ok, so you are good to apply there. Yeah, the embassy requires a lot and I know some Japanese who decided to apply in SE Asia due to the much easier application. Tokyo Thai Embassy was very helpful, responsive via email when I enquired with them.

just wanted to check because some people go there as tourists without researching it and then couldn't apply 🙂

Sincerely good luck with it,
