Tod Daniels I got the year long visa based on retirement here in Thailand ( it’s not multi entry. And I don’t think it’s O-A as can’t see that anywhere
Ok confirmed £9.50 to transfer £20k (in sterling) and no more than 500 baht to take it into a foreign currency account with bk bank. So I'm thinking this is a better way to show the funds for retirement visa, unless ofc you plan on using it. I'm assuming it wd cost the same to transfer back to halifax but need to try clear that up at bk bank ( no easy communicating tho ) I think my next step is get letter from immigration n go to the bank ( preferably with a Thai to help translate it clearly )
yeah I understand that but my idea wd be to leave that there and I could use it to show year on year. Any ideas why they asked for a letter from immigration again? I thought as I've already done it ( for 1st acount) then there would be no need ?
I went to bkk bank to enquire about foreign currency account and it would be no more than 500baht to transfer £20k strange though they said I would require a letter from immigration to open another account ? I had to do this when opening my first account with them so not sure why I have to do it again? I have someone at home in uk going to find out how much it would cost for halifax bank to transfer £20k here. Reading on google looks like £9.50 but I'll get it confirmed and post later
