I got my retirement extension in chonburi then I moved up north to petchabun. So changed everything to petch immigration and have checked in and put tm30 in there too. Today I went for my 3 month check in and they have a new boss who wouldn’t check me in and said I must do it in chonburi ( wherever you got your extension ) she wasn’t the most pleasant and said this is a new law just brought in. Obv this causes me an issue as I don’t have much time to get there Is this right ( must be I suppose) but yet another problem and hoop to jump through ? Be fine when I have to renew as do it up here

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user facing issues with their retirement visa check-in at Petchabun Immigration after moving from Chonburi reported that the new officer at Petchabun claimed that check-ins must be completed at the location where the visa extension was granted. The user questioned the validity of this new requirement, given that they had already submitted their TM30 address registration. Community members echoed concerns about the officer's behavior and shared their own experiences navigating similar bureaucratic challenges.

Did you have your receipt of having filed a TM28 address change and the TM30 notification of foreigner in residence IN your passport?

IF you changed your address and filed a TM30 they can't really deny you applying for a 90 day report at their office.

Same problem. She is not the most pleasant individual. Did my 90 day by EMS to jomtien, then TM30 at phetchabun.

you say you lived in Chonburi for 3 years. Did you ever use an agent when you did the very first extension from your original visa?

At petchabun they said I can do tm30 there but this kinda doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

Where is there? Did you file within 24 hours after arrival the TM30 and TM28 (both document are to register your address, you can only do that at the Immigration office that servers the area) at Petchabun Immigration?

probably the new law means that is the new policy at that particular Immigration office.

Just ask a copy of the Police Order with this new rule, or accept it and start travelling.

you are allowed to move to another city or province. You or your landlord file the TM30 Address registration and you file on top the TM28 Address registration that you moved to this address they should help you. There is NO new rule that foreigners are not allowed to move to other places and should stay the rest of their lives at 1 address.

well this lady told me today very clearly that this is a new rule. You must check in at the immigration where you took your extension Robert everything you say I’ve done and no problem until today. As I say she is the new boss there and would not do my check in stating the above. So what am I supposed to do ?

no it was done in the proper manner. Apparently it’s a new rule just brought in according to the new boss. Probs to stop the use of agents but really not ideal
