Just came back to petchabun after a few weeks in pattaya and bkk. Went to petchabun immi to do tm30 and the officer said there’s no need unless you’ve been out of country? She said it’s scrapped when traveling in country, is this right ? I’ve never seen that but she was adamant so what can I say. Maybe I’ve missed this. Can’t argue with immi officer

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the necessity of filing a TM30 form when returning to a primary address in Thailand after traveling within the country. Several users confirm that it is not required to refile a TM30 for domestic travel and only needs to be filed when returning to Thailand from abroad. The opinions shared reflect personal experiences at different immigration offices, reinforcing the understanding that TM30 submissions are primarily necessary for changes in permanent residence or when coming back from another country.

I always wonder if it’s only an issue for online 90 day reporting and maybe getting rejected due to any conflicts. Be interested to hear if that has been an issue

I can add further my experience this afternoon at Korat immigration, if it is of any use/ interest. I did my Thai wife visa in Chaiphum due to staying with my wife's family there for 2 months; I had to file a TM30 to acquire my visa. However, today upon returning to Korat ( my permanent address), I did not get asked to file a new TM30 as I kept hold of my old TM30 for my permanent address. The officer just stapled that one back in to my passport replacing the TM30 from where I had been staying in Chaiphum. I don't believe this is the correct procedure, but it worked for me today. I would most definitely say for Korat at least you don't need to file a TM30 every time you stay away from home any longer, in country.

I have done. And I had all paperwork ready to file a new TM30 for that day, in the room next door but they didn't ask me to update. They just stapled back my permanent address from the two TM30 slips of choice I gave them upon my 90 day report. It seems we can never know what to expect upon any visit on any given day.

TM 30 is only used internally for a permanent change of address.

most offices indeed follow the rule that for in country travel you don't need to refile a TM30 when you get back to your primary address. Only when you return from abroad.

I used to have to do it when I went to bkk hospital regularly. Good to know there’s no need now 👍🏽Tx

if you ever move to a new province make sure you check the rules there. And even re-check your current province every couple years to see if they changed policy as they just did on you.
