Hi I came in on 45 day visa exempt from uk, at the end of this, can I get a 30 day ext at immigration ? Also what is the Covid 60 day option ?, if it is an option ? I’m having an operation here so not sure of my future plans right now. I do want to change it to a retirement visa all going well and I know that’ll take around 3 weeks to do, so just trying to work out my timings for this .

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user asks about the possibility of extending a 45-day visa exemption after it expires, particularly if a 30-day extension is available and what the Covid 60-day extension option entails. Comments indicate that a 30-day extension can be applied for at immigration offices, requiring specific documents and fees. An alternative recommendation is provided, suggesting the user pursue a 60 or 90-day extension based on medical reasons due to an upcoming operation, which is feasible as long as treatment is ongoing.

Cheers Benjamin. I didn’t no about the medical extension. I’m due at hospital on Monday so I’ll ask the dr about it. I can’t google as it’s my eyes I’m having done , my sight is very poor just now so tx for that 👍🏽

The hospital should be familiar with that extension of stay, and they can help you get it if you qualify for that extension of stay :) Good luck!

Yes you can. You can apply for a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism when there is 30 days or less remaining on your current entry stamp (or 45 days or less at some immigration offices). You will need:

Different immigration offices have different requirements, but all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office [SOME immigration offices only].

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms, and ant to use their special forms)

4. 2x passport pictures

5. 1,900 THB.

Different immigration offices have different policies. *SOME* may require:

- The ID card of the property owner where you are staying

- Copies of *ALL* stamped pages in your passport

>I’m having an operation here so not sure of my future plans right now

I *HIGHLY* recommend *NOT* getting a 30 day extension of stay, but instead a 60 or 90 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to medical reasons, if you qualify. You can get an unlimited amount of these extensions, as long as you are still getting treatment. The cost is 1,900 THB per each extension. Talk to your doctor/ hospital about it.

Make sure you meet the financial requirements to get an in-country Non-O visa based on being over 50
