not only are they human, they are wonderful, but as I stated many like to push the timetable and it's just simply a matter of manning up and pushing back. There's nothing wrong with that, granted many men in the West do not feel comfortable pushing back, but it's a very healthy thing to do. Setting boundaries is good for everyone.

Yes. They will nearly always push the timetable. You need to push back.

I always advocate really taking your time here. Time is ALWAYS our ally, and never theirs. So take you time, get to know who they really are, and how they act under duress. The vast majority of Thai people are way immature for their age. And many women and men are emotionally undeveloped, and really just 13 year olds, who look like adults. There is something about this society that does not allow most people to grow up with an understanding of themselves. I think face has something to do with it. The utter refusal to take responsibility for one's actions and the unwillingness to "own" a situation, and man up when you screw up. That and the inability to question people, and situations. And the subsequent lack of curiosity. It is all a perfect storm, when it comes to preventing alot of people from becoming well developed human beings, with communication skills, and the tools needed to conduct meaningful relationships, beyond the surface.

There is an app called Fanytel. Gives you a US number for calls and texts. In and out. Fairly inexpensive. Works well. Otherwise a Skype in number works, but no voice mail is available on Skype.

It's a fourth Century device that is used when people don't want to spend more than $15 on their bathroom accessories.

Everything about it is inconvenient and it's incredibly uncomfortable for anyone over 60 years old.

There you go again playing the victim always getting pissed off at tiny little things that really have no bearing on your life.

Just bear in mind that most of the furniture in rental houses is real junk, so you're probably going to want to replace it anyway if you plan on staying any length of time. For certain you're going to want to replace the beds and the mattresses, as most rental homes come with mattresses that are worth 3,000 baht and are very low end.

In my opinion life is way too short to sleep on a crappy mattress.

What they have failed to realize is that very few would want to stay in the UK at this point in time, the quality of life in Thailand is so much higher, but they haven't quite figured that one out yet.
