the upgrade is for the truemoney app. a way to use “scan to pay” at local vendors or paying your bills. the “basic” plan does not allow to use the “scan to pay” feature which makes the truemoney app completely pointless for anyone on the “basic” plan.

i just submitted using these steps, so we’ll see if it works. the picture of the visa stamp from my passport doesn’t include the personal identifying information page of the passport, so i’m not sure how it would be acceptable but i’m willing to give it a shot.

thailand really doesn’t want to make it convenient or easy for non-locals to spend money here.

are you saying we can still withdraw funds from an ATM even after our account has been frozen by bangkok bank? that’ll save me a trip to pattaya if i can just withdraw the funds from an ATM in BKK.

i sent them an email to the LA embassy on dec 28 but received no response. i just sent them another email for an update.

congrats, but now i’m just pissed. i’ve been waiting on the LA embassy since december 13 for word on my additional documents 🤬

i haven’t bothered. others have called their embassy and they have been receiving the same response—it’s out of their hands at the moment.
