. You have answered my questions several times when no-one else could (including immigration officials!)

Note - keep the letter from the Labour office that officially states you are 'out of work'. They will give it to you (or your school staff) when you (or they) cancel the work permit.

I've had to use mine several times since then for tax, work permit applications, visa extension renewals etc.

That's the same one you need to take to immigration to officially end your work extension.

When you've done that, you immediately apply for an extension of stay for 7 days for the purposes of 'get your s*** together', and pay 1900 baht

This could potentially be of help - I did the exact same thing in Chiang Rai a few years ago, and also didn't quite have time for the funds to season in the bank account. If you have a thai child, they let me use a 60 day extension for the purposes of 'visit thai child' in between the work extension and the marriage extension as a spacer while the funds seasoned. When that 60 days was up I made the switch to a marriage extension, by which time the funds were seasoned

I tried only using the 'money in account' way, but then she asked if I work too and asked for the other documents on top. I checked the form she filled in with my application - she only checked 'ngern fak nai tanakan' box but wanted the rest, too. I guess she's making sure I have been doing anything naughty... But it's a massive pain in the 🐴 especially seeing as I'm not even authorised to get half of the documents they requested from the financial department and need to go back with a POA form

interestingly, she wasn't at all interested in the bank statements showing my salary going in, and gave those back. She only wanted the ones showing the 400k sitting in my savings account

chiang mai. I used the 400k method and gave her all the required paperwork as I have done for the past few years. She asked if I was working, and I said yes, and gave her the copy of my work permit and letter from work, with bank statements showing the salary going in, as I have been asked to before. She turned around and checked with someone behind her before telling ne that if I'm working then I would also need the tax documents etc. From my school. This is the part I've neve been asked for before, didn't have prepared, and got sent on a wild goose chase to the revenue department where they told me that only an official from my school was authorised to get them.

Might be a bit cheeky... are you allowed to get a space in the queue then nip off and update the book while waiting?

the question is, is the total 12 month amount enough that you would have a spare 400,000 in the account that you could leave untouched for the entire year?
